Outdoors Cafe & Bar

Came here one day with one of my girlfriends for lunch because she remembered that this place had nice food and she hadn't been in awhile. I guess standards have dropped since then.

The ambiance was nice and outdoorsy, with few tables occupied. The waitstaff was obviously trying, but trying doesn't make you efficient.

My friend had a chicken Caesar's salad and I had a smoked salmon sandwich. My friend didn't enjoy her salad at all which is sad because its one of the easiest, most common salads. There was not enough sauce, a lot of iceberg, and the chicken didn't taste right. At first I thought it was spoiled. But on second try, I deem it either leftover chicken from the day before or frozen and thawed. Either way we didn't like it. We complained to the waitress who was nice enough to offer to change the chicken though my friend had by then lost her appetite. After the waitress had alerted the chef, he told her that there was nothing wrong with the chicken. Ah well.

My sandwich was average and not worth its price. The salmon fillings were skimpy, but the worst part was that the bread was stale. Not impressed.

Also, we overheard a German guy at the next table complaining to the waitress about the bartender. We looked over and to my amusement, the bartender couldn't even dispense beer from the tap properly. He was dispensing erdinger into a glass and then scooping over the foam to another glass. Any proper bartender or beer drinker would know that something like that would spoil the entire makeup of the beer. Or as the German man said, "All of Germany would just be at a loss". lol

Acid bar Alley Bar Ice cold beer are some of the nicest chillout areas in town... Nestled between beautiful peranakan buildings. it's quite a nice hidden spot away from the crowd and from the constructions..

Let's face it.. No one's here for the food. For the drinks yes for the ambience yes for the music yes but for the food? erm no...Not that it's bad but juz that it's nothing to shout about..

We had the toasted garlic bread which is a tad too mashy n soft for my liking.. it's not fluffy at all n i dun likey.. The ham and mushroom pizza is thinly crust which is a tad too thin that it became hard at e edge that u can crack it.. it's overwhelm with tomato sauce that i can't taste any ham nor mushroom...

The mushroom carbonara was alrighty.. it's not too creamy hence not too jielat n is a safe order... saw e mushrooms but not too sure where's e bacon...

We had a jug of signature melon rhapsody which came quite ice-blended that u tasted more ice than the liquor...stick to the beers n hard liquors..

Overall it's not exactly a place for food but it's ok if u r not fussy.. or drunk. A great thing though is the live singing from acid bar with talents belting out easy listening songs..

15 March 2008 : The Happi Family (NS, AC, RL, CP, 77 and JC) proceeded to this place for drinks to forget about our bad experience at Balcony. We sat down and we ordered :

a jug of Glenfiddich with pepsi

a jug of Cachaca with lime juice

The drinks were so VERY WEAK. We were all very disappointed. We fished out our pocket money for the week and paid the bill.

We were still very thirsty peasants and we decided to proceed to Nude Restaurant for more drinks.

Saturday (15 Mar 08). After our lousy experience at The Balcony Bar, we (JC, AC, NS, QQ, CP and myself) found ourselves here.

We started off with whiskey by ordering a jug of Glenfiddich with pepsi. It was weak and had only a slight hint of whiskey taste, so we quickly finished it off in double-quick time.

We scanned the menu again and zoomed in on the rum. We ordered a jug of Cachca with lime juice. It was totally weak too and we could not taste the alcohol in it, so we were able to down the jug in one go.

We were disappointed with the weak drinks, so we decided to move on to somewhere else. We wandered towards Wisma Atria and found ourselves at Nude.

Jon Molina & Krueger(No Boy-Bands Shit as he always says)... Right mix of Good Crowd(Not too many MAT SALLEH oso! You need to feel like your in your own country sometimes u know...) Drinks are Reasonably Priced... C'mn guys,I followed the Band from Devil's Bar..They are That Good...
